SUMMARY:Tasting “Wine and Food at Promenu”
DESCRIPTION:One of the best tableware chain stores – Promenu\, which includes 26 stores across Ukraine\, invited us to conduct a series of cooking master classes. Promenu not only sells goods\, but also gives new knowledge and delicious emotions. Clients of the network are people who like to cook with the help of beautiful\, high-quality and convenient cookware. Very often there are new items from the world of tableware and cookware in the stores\, and it’s not always easy to understand how they work without the help of professionals. The third lesson of the culinary master class cycle in the Promenu chain stores was dedicated to the pairing of wine and food. Many people know that there are 4 main tastes that affect the receptors of our tong: bitter\, sour\, sweet\, salty\, spicy; and the fifth taste\, which is called “Umami.” Guests of the lesson learned from the sommelier of our school Konstantin Vidoborenko how these tastes interact in different combinations paired with different wines. He organised a wine and food tasting\, where he showed in theory and in practice how unexpected taste combinations are. Konstantin picked three wines: Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva 2011 Castello di Molina San Pedro\, Pinot Noir 2008 The Plateau Hawke’s Bay Sileni\, and The Dry Dam Riesling 2008 Mclaren Vale d’Arenberg for tasting. And chef Alexander Stefoglo prepared the food part. On this day\, all the guests of the lesson left with the understanding why specific wines are paired with certain products\, and with some – they are not\, and how to choose the right wine for your favourite dish. \nPhotos from the lesson \n \n  \n \n  \n \n  \n \n  \n \n  \n \n  \n \n  \n \n  \n \n  \n \n  \n \n  \n \n  \n \n  \n \n
